Most of what we move is apartments. Elevator reservations, loading zones and fourth-floor walk-ups are the normal Tuesday here.
An apartment move lives or dies on access. A building with a reservable freight elevator and a loading dock takes half the time of a walk-up with street parking two blocks away — same furniture, same crew, double the hours.
So access is the first thing we ask about: which floor, is there a lift, can the truck stop at the door. The estimate then reflects your actual building rather than an average of everyone's.
Where a building needs a certificate of insurance or a booked service elevator, we deal with the management office ourselves. You should not have to chase a leasing agent the week you are packing.
Studios and one-bedrooms usually run the three-hour minimum. Two and three-bedroom units with a lift are typically four to six hours with two movers.
There is no separate stair fee. Stairs make a job take longer, and that shows up as hours — which we estimate before you book, not after.
Weekdays are easier to schedule and easier for elevator bookings. Weekends and the last three days of the month fill first.
